Soyeun Jung is a Gayageum player and teacher who completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies in Traditional Korean Music at Dankook University in South Korea. In 1993, she won the Grand Prize at the 2nd Annual National Gayageum Competition in Goryeong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and in 1994, she was featured as a soloist at the National Rising Star Concert in Seoul. From 1994 to 2003, she performed as a Gayageum player with the Cheonan City Korean Music Orchestra. Her performance career has taken her to the United States, Great Britain, Japan, and South America. She also served as a lecturer at Cheonan Arts High School in Chungnam Province. Currently, she is the president of the Gayageum Gumwoo Association in Virginia, promoting Korean traditional music internationally.
정소연은 가야금 연주자이자 교육자로, 한국 단국대학교 국악과에서 학사와 석사 과정을 마쳤습니다. 1993년 제2회 전국 가야금 경연대회에서 대상을 수상하였고, 1994년에는 서울에서 열린 전국신인 음악회에서 가야금 독주자로 무대에 섰습니다. 1994년부터 2003년까지는 천안시립 국악관현악단의 가야금 연주단원으로 활동하였으며, 미국, 영국, 일본, 남미 등 세계 여러 나라에서 연주 활동을 펼쳤습니다. 또한 충남예술고등학교에서 강사로도 재직한 바 있습니다. 현재는 미국 버지니아주에서 워싱턴가야금 금우악회의 대표로 활동하며, 국악의 아름다움을 세계에 알리는 데 힘쓰고 있습니다.
